The multi-talented Lalique had first created lamps in 1913. This model, often known as Suzanne au Bain, dates to 1925. According to tradition the figure was inspired by Lalique’s daughter Suzanne who had married the photographer Paul Burty-Haviland in 1917.

For many years, Suzanne assisted her father and contributed to many of his pieces. She was an accomplished artist in her own right, providing porcelain designs for the Limoges factory and later working as a stage and costume designer. The piece is estimated at €23,000-28,000.
