In a display set out by the decorator François-Joseph Graf it will present more than 200 objects from the 19th century trade exhibitions held in major cities such as Paris, London, Vienna and Brussels to promote industrial production in the host countries as well as objects made by the craftsmen who revealed their talents at these events.

There will be vases, cabinets, goblets, mirrors and statues in a variety of precious materials such as gold, silver, ivory, ebony and pietra dura.

Pictured above is the piece which gives the exhibition its title. It has a provenance to an Italian private collection and was in a Milanese Palazzo probably from the early 20th century until it was sold early this century.

The price range is from €10,000 up to several million.
