Hinchingbrooke House in Huntingdon is a 16th century manor house which was gifted by Henry VIII to Richard Cromwell while he was overseeing the king’s dissolution of the monasteries. It is one of the historic properties offering imposing backdrops to Lomax Fairs’ events.
The two-day Hinchingbrooke House Antiques Fair runs three times a year with the next on Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22. Here 35 exhibitors will be offering fresh-to-the-market traditional antiques at prices from £20 to £10,000.
Lomax Fairs also runs events at the early-20th century St Felix School, Southwold, and the 18th century Holkham Hall in Norfolk.
The 25-year-old Huntingdon fair was taken over by Lomax Fairs six years ago. Organiser John Harbottle said: “It is slightly different from our usual in as much as it is not standfitted. The grand rooms at Hinchingbrooke, with their high ceilings, historic features and period furniture, provide the perfect setting for a quality fair.”
