The venue is the Palazzo Corsini, a riverside Florentine palace overlooking the Arno with dealers’ stands spread across various rooms.

This year 77 exhibitors from across Europe and from New York will be standing at the fair bringing Old Master and Modern paintings, sculpture, furniture and works of art.

Sixteen are new to the list this year including three from London: Peter Finer bringing antique arms and armour; Dickinson with Old Masters, Modern and Contemporary art and Callisto Fine Arts with sculpture, works of art and paintings, thereby swelling the UK contingent at this event to eight.

Other new faces include the Galerie Canesso (Old Masters) and Galerie Sisman (early sculpture) from Paris and, from New York, Nicolas Hall specialising in Old Masters and 19th century European Art.

The BIAF opens to the public from September 21-29.
