Organiser Sue Ede said: “We are thrilled to be back. There are no indoor stalls, with everyone outside and well spaced. We have studied all the latest guidelines and are taking all the necessary steps. Stallholders are asked to interpret the guidelines according to their areas.”

She added: “For this fair stallholders wanting to be sure of their space can reserve a pitch in advance by phoning in. This is new for us as outside stalls were always allocated on arrival.”

Returnees include Andy Dutch (the Top Hat Man), Woodie Tools with vintage garden and domestic tools and Iris Watkinson with Ordnance Survey maps.

To book an outside pitch contact the organisers on 01278 784912. The next planned Shepton Flea after August 16 is Sunday, October 11, when trading inside at the fleamarket might recommence depending on circumstances.
