The July sale posted some success stories including from Phil Salin of Sarah Key Books in Cambridge, which specialises in children’s and illustrated books.
He said: “Some £800 has resulted from the July online fair. Not all were outstanding and obvious items. We are very pleased with how these online fairs are going.”
The bookseller is offering a 1997 first paperback edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the August fair.
McLaren Books from Helensburgh in Scotland reported that in the June fair it sold a £1200 book, adding “the online fair may not have the fun of a real event but it can work – and the bar bill is cheaper”.
