All multi-vendor Chinese art sales will move. However, it will continue to offer major single-owner collections of Chinese art in London and will also hold biannual online Art of China sales.

In a statement Christie’s said: “Building on the successful collaboration between the London and Paris Chinese art departments for the Art d’Asie auctions and Christie’s 77% market share in Europe, and following a strategic review of the international Chinese sale calendar, Christie’s will consolidate various owner auctions of Chinese art in Christie’s Paris Art d’Asie auctions from 2021.”

These biannual sales will take place in June and December.

Christie’s international specialist Kate Hunt will be based in London, sourcing for both the Paris and Hong Kong Chinese sales, and international senior specialist Marco Almeida will take up the position of head of the Chinese ceramics and works of art department in Hong Kong in the new year.
