'Honolulu Clipper' poster, 1939 – $17,000 (£13,075) at Swann Galleries.
It promoted overnight travel from San Francisco to Hawaii on the Boeing 314 Honolulu Clipper.
Designed by Paul George Lawler, the 2ft 3in x 3ft 5in (61cm x 1m) poster, showing a queue of passengers alighting from the plane in Honolulu, was hammered down for $17,000 (£13,075) in New York.
The sale took place on October 15.
