“It’s been such a long time coming and we are just so happy to be in there now,” she says.
“We only need to update and redecorate.”
The 2000-sq ft building has been empty for four years and Potts is getting very excited about the centre’s planned opening later this year.
Touch of theatre
It will be called Theatre Street Antiques and Vintage and Potts hopes that 15-20 dealers will take space in the centre.
The Potts, who have lived in Woodbridge for three years and in Suffolk for 12, have both been dealing for some years as a sideline.
“Jamie likes all things nautical and I collect art. I particularly like 19th century engravings. There will be loads of paintings in a gallery at the centre and we also hope to run an art exhibition every month showcasing the work of local artists.’’
James Lightfoot, chairman of the local business and tourism association Choose Woodbridge, said: “Like many streets around the UK, Woodbridge has struggled with the impact of coronavirus. But we have a fabulous assortment of resilient independent businesses supported by an enthusiastic local community.”
