Among the medals on offer, estimated at £300-500, is a First World War group awarded to Sister Annie Brumwell of the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Nursing Service Reserve.

It includes a Royal Red Cross, 1st Class, ‘in recognition of valuable service with the British Forces in Mesopotamia’.

Brumwell, born in Chippenham, Wiltshire in 1880, was mentioned in dispatches (see London Gazette, June 5, 1919).
