Many dealers reported it to be their best-ever Decorative fair with buyers glad to be back at an in-person event after so long without the opportunity.
Exhibitors reported a pleasing number of interior designers and decorators, UK trade buyers and even a decent number of US visitors. There was also considerable spending by private buyers for their own homes.
Fair organisers reported that, as expected, decorative items did well but there was also demand for traditional English furniture and 20th century design. A number of dealers reported sales in excess of £40,000.
A c.1520 illuminated manuscript on paper sold by Joanna Booth with asking price of £2800.
Among the sales was a c.1950s leather sofa manufactured by Rud Rasmussen and designed by Kaare Klint (1888- 1954) from dealer Foster & Gane. It had an asking price of £18,500.
Joanna Booth sold a c.1520 illuminated manuscript on paper (Umbria, Italy) which had an asking price of £2800 to a new client from the US.
