Fifteen golfers lined up to compete for the Alan Nicholson Quaich which is organised Eurovision-style: the winner has to organise the following year’s match.

This edition was held over for 12 months due to Covid restrictions and saw fierce competition.

Dixon retained the title, closely chased by Gordon Foster of Decorative Arts @Doune (2nd), Tom Young of Tom Young Antiques and Tom Bell of Tom Bell Fine Art Troon (Joint 3rd).

Dixon, finance director of LAPADA, is looking forward to organising next year’s match already.

The next SAD outing will be at Dunbar Golf Club on October 5 where they will play against the Fine Art Golfing Society (FAGS) in the annual challenge match. FAGS will be touring in North Berwick and St Andrews.
