Panter & Hall offers In the Nineties by Steven Spurrier (1878- 1961) for £4850 at the London Art Fair.
The rescheduled London Art Fair runs from April 20-24 at Islington’s Business Design Centre. The annual event was rescheduled from its normal slot in January as cases of the Omicron variant were on the rise. Modern and Contemporary art are the focus of the show, with dealers including Alan Wheatley Art, Browse and Darby and Christopher Kingzett.
London Art Week’s theme this summer is Music and Dance. The subject will be celebrated in an exhibition on the LAW Digital website, where each participant will offer a work to reflect the theme. Among the highlights will be a preliminary drawing for one of Thomas Rowlandson’s illustrations to William Combe’s The Dance of Life, offered by Guy Peppiatt.
The event, which runs from July 3-8, has a new exhibitor this year, Miles Wyn Cato, and will also host returning exhibitors Moretti, Rountree Tryon and Stuart Lochhead Sculpture.
Members of the Irish Antiques Dealers Association have raised more than €8000 for the Irish Red Cross to support Ukraine with a sale of reduced stock.
Other dealerships have also been looking for ways to raise money and awareness for the Ukrainian crisis. At the recent Connect Art Fair, the dealers offered a Wall of Paintings with proceeds, profit or a percentage being passed on to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) going to help Ukrainian refugees.
In Dublin, at Olivier Cornet Gallery, Conrad Frankel’s solo show running until May 10 changed theme at the last minute. Since the war began, Frankel has chosen a different image from a news site every day and painted it, and these pictures now comprise the exhibition. Twenty percent of sales will go to help displaced Ukrainians.
JD Malat Gallery offered 100 limited-edition prints of Georgia Dymock’s print Can’t get you out of my head for £790, with 50% of the proceeds going to the DEC.
