In a hotly contested game Paul Roberts of Lyon & Turnbull pipped Padraich Dixon of Georgian Antiques in Leith for the trophy which has been played for annually since 1992.
Winning the competition is not without cost as it brings the Eurovision-style responsibility of organising the next match – so SAD golfers can look forward to playing at Duddingston GC nestled in the shadow of Arthur’s Seat in central Edinburgh next summer. Any golfers in the Scottish trade interested in playing with fellow professionals should contact John Dixon at Georgian Antiques.
The Scottish Art Dealers’ next match will be against the Fine Art Golfing Society on their annual tour at Dunbar Golf Club in October.

Meanwhile, the Silversmiths and Jewellers Charity annual golf day will be held at Royal Blackheath GC on Friday, September 23. Sam Loxton of Lockstone Antiques is assisting in putting on the event. The charity was established over 180 years ago to help those who have worked in the silversmiths’ and goldsmiths’ industry, together with their widows and widowers who have fallen on hard times.
