They feature 9in hexagonal smoothbore barrels with sights, signed GULLEY LONDON to the top flat of the barrel and GULLEY to the lockplate, with crown over GP and crown over V proof and viewer’s marks.

The pistols, estimated at £4000-6000, came full stocked with brass mounts and chequered grips, with brass-capped wooden ramrods and other items contained in their green baize-lined mahogany case with paper manufacturer’s label (giving the Gulley address of 254 Oxford Street, London).

The box included a set of spare different size bore damascened barrels manufactured by William Fullerd, London, signed to the top flat and initialled WF.
