“It’s certainly something we’ll be looking at this year, maybe an established antiques expert or someone with a wider appeal”, he said.

“We have nine social media accounts with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as our Google accounts.”

The centres – in Oxford which is the original Antiques on High, Sidmouth and Bowness-on-Windermere – are doing well on crossover business, added Page, “with 17 dealers from Oxford and Sidmouth also trading in Bowness, most of whom have never been to the shop.”

New local dealers at Bowness are Neil Honeyman selling coins and Russian dolls plus antiquarian bookseller Clement Burston.
