Pictured here is a 1930s poster promoting Amber in Jaipur, India.

The 3ft 4in x 2ft 1in (1m x 63cm) linen backed lithographic poster was designed by Austin Cooper (1890-1964). The Canadian-British artist’s commercial work included designs for various British railway companies with over 50 posters for the London Underground.

This is one of the few posters he designed for destinations outside the UK. It was published in London by the Lochend Printing Co and is estimated at $900-1200 in the sale on January 29.
