Former Christie’s specialist Joy McCall has now moved to Lyon & Turnbull. After a similarly long tenure at Bonhams, Mark Oliver now works with Kinghams.
Both have been tasked with holding a couple of specialist glass sales a year at a time when the market does appear to be in good health. After a generation of ‘looking over the shoulder’ to the peaks of the 1990s, Lalique is once more on an upward trajectory.
It thrives in the digital sphere that is so well-suited to mass-produced objects that can be bought and sold based on photography and a condition report but also benefits from the sort of special single-catalogue treatment afforded the perfume bottle collection at Lyon & Turnbull.
Pictured here is a selection of Lalique pieces sold at various UK auctions in recent months.
