L’homme de la nuit by Germaine Richier – estimate €200,000-300,000 at Artcurial.

The ensemble on offer from the Impressionist and Modern department of Artcurial in Paris on December 6 comprises 16 bronzes (three large examples, 10 small and three busts) plus seven drawings and four prints.
Among the highlights is L’homme de la nuit, one of Richier’s hybrid sculptures that combine animal, plant and human forms.
The 2ft 5in (73cm) high large version of this work, in black patinated bronze from 1954, is signed and numbered G Richier HC 2 on the base, also has the mark of the Susse Foundry and was on loan to Tate Modern, London, from 1997 to 2022.
Estimate €200,000-300,000.
