Working in association with the artist’s estate, the Savile Row, London, gallery stages Coming up for Air at its own premises from September 30-October 28.
The show comprises 20 paintings tracking Schueler’s career, from his days as a student of Clyfford Still to his service in the Second World War to his time in the remote West Highlands of Scotland.
Coinciding with the exhibition, a selection of Schueler’s Scottish paintings will be on show at the Caledonian Club near Belgravia. Dating from the 1970-80s, these were completed in Mallaig on the Sound of Sleat.
