Onbu (Piggyback) (Pink) by STIK, estimated at £12,000-18,000 at Christie's.
The sale will predominantly feature works by Banksy, including works from the Gross Domestic Product range launched in 2019, alongside prints by eminent artists such as Damien Hirst, Tunji Adeniyi Jones, Ayako Rokkaku, Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Yinka Shonibare, Patrick Hughes and David Shrigley.
Christie’s says: “This auction format, cheekily titled in reference to one of Banksy’s most well-known screenprints, situates Banksy within the wider context of artists producing editions in the 21st century.”
Shown here is Onbu (Piggyback) (Pink) by STIK (b.1979), ukiyo-e woodcut in black, white and pink, 2013, signed and numbered, one of 10 artist’s proofs aside from the edition of 15. The estimate is £12,000-18,000.
