W Shanshan offers this large red earthenware jar from the Siwa culture (14th-11th century BC) for £3800 at Mayfair Antiques & Fine Art Fair.
Running from January 12-15, this staging is its first since 2020.
Organiser Ingrid Nilson of The Antiques Dealers Fair Limited says her team is “delighted” to be back at the familiar venue, The London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, where they are joined by some “impressive dealers”.
She adds: “The exhibitors and my team are looking forward to putting on a fantastic, friendly fair and to welcoming back our followers and to introducing new visitors to the best from the best.”
As well as W Shanshan, newcomers include Santos London, Oriental Rug Shop and Mark Buckley Antiques. They join a large cohort of dealers who are returning to the event such as Morgan Strickland Decorative Arts, Anthea AG Antiques and S&S Timms Antiques.
Capital calendar
It is the first of many vetted London antiques events set to return this year.
The Open Art Fair, which had its first and only run in March 2020, is scheduled for April 19-23, while the LAPADA Fair, dormant since 2019, is set to return to an as-yet unspecified slot in the autumn.
Meanwhile, dates and details about Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia in the summer are yet to be announced.
There are also several losses for next year, however, including the two anticipated stagings of the Chelsea Antiques Fair.
