A “fine” 27th Enniskillen (Inniskilling) Regiment officer’s shoulder belt plate, c.1775-1800, soared above a guide of £600-800 to make £9000 at Noonans (24% buyer’s premium) in Mayfair on December 7.

The silvered oval design featured a ornately engraved rim with rayed star, and to the centre a beaded rim with title scroll Enniskillen below a castle with 27 on blue enamel ground. It was in largely good condition.
