One of the most prolific and well-known authors of reference books on ceramics and in particular British transferware and jugs is Dick Henrywood.
A former consultant and auctioneer at Dreweatts, who has researched transferware for more than four decades, he has now taken a unit at Antiques on High’s antiques centre in Taunton, Somerset.
Henrywood, who lives nearby in Devon, said: “My unit is heavily populated with jugs and many other offerings including teddy bears, kitchenalia, 20th century ceramics, some textiles and lots of other items.”
Henrywood’s published material includes Staffordshire Potters 1781-1900 (released in 1996).
Business empire
The Taunton centre – encompassing the Taunton Antiques Market with a new shop – was the fourth that Vincent Pugh and his wife Lesley White have opened under the brand name of Antiques on High.
Page launched his business in 2017 when he bought Antiques on High, a long-established centre in Oxford. Centres in Sidmouth and Bowness-on-Windermere followed.
