1 What is one great discovery you have made?
Discovering that I was good at selling diamonds. I specialise in antique and modern, diamond and precious stone jewellery.
2 What is one challenge that buyers or collectors currently face?
The emergence of lab-grown diamonds undercutting and undermining the natural diamond industry. People should always ask if diamonds are natural or lab grown before buying.
3 What is the best show you’ve visited recently?
We exhibited at Cooper Events’ fair in Pavilions of Harrogate, which was a great success.
4 What is one lesson you would pass on to a newcomer in the trade?
Work as hard as possible, talk to as many dealers as you can, and take either the GIA or DGA course at the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
5 What is one thing you couldn’t do without?
My 10x lens. A Presidium synthetic diamonds screener comes a close second.
