The sale of Impressionist and Modern art on March 22 will include this 9 x 12½in (23 x 32cm) work by Maximilien Luce (1858-1941) depicting a market in Gisors (below left). It is executed in oil on paper laid on panel, is signed lower right and has an estimate of €5000-7000.
The sale of Old Master paintings and drawings the following day will include a chalk study by Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824-1904). The 11½ x 7¼in (29 x 18cm) depiction of a Neapolitan woman, is signed JL Gérôme on the right and guided at €600-800.
