A stolidly German affair, it proved popular with local collectors and there were particularly buoyant sales in the middle price ranges.

Picture dealers found visitors knowledgable although there were no sales above DM550,000. Nineteenth century work caused much interest.

There were significant sales of silver and porcelain and as usual there was much interest in the Jugendstil, Art Nouveau and Art Deco sections. Netsuke and Japanese prints were notably popular among the Oriental sales.

The furniture section was busy with Dusseldorf specialists in English furniture Heyduck selling a set of 12 Chippendale chairs, c.1770, for DM130,000.
