THE Earl Spencer has postponed Sotheby’s auction of the attic contents of Althorp, scheduled for June, until Spring next year.“Given the grave concerns about the spread of Foot and Mouth disease and the impossibility of predicting when the situation will improve, my most important priority right now must be to ensure that Althorp can safely open to the public as scheduled on July 1,” he said.

McCARTNEYS of Ludlow, Shropshire, have had to postpone their General and Antique sale from May 18 until Friday June 15, to follow their Fine Art and Antique sale. Tel: 01584 872251.
