Around half of them were purchased by London ceramics dealer Jonathan Horne but the most expensive, this rare 81/4in (21cm) high Staffordshire pearlware model of a camel of c.1785 was bought by a New York dealer. It fetched a double-estimate £27,000 (plus 17.5 per cent premium), the highest price of the sale.
