Northumberland organiser David Oliver tells me a very fine collection of English military muskets should prove a big draw this time, as should a Wilkinson turret rifle, cased with a pair of pistols and other accessories, which was used at the Siege of Lucknow.
The fair has been chosen by John Gangell of Little John’s Auctions, California for the European promotion of the F.W.Roebling Collection of Important European and American Antique Arms, to be offered for sale in California on April 27.Admission to the fair is £10 and to mark the 20th staging a specially enlarged edition of the catalogue, itself a work of reference, will be issued.
