Around 100 pieces will be on sale priced from $2500 to $35,000, and for the first time the show highlights the work of three great ceramicists, Makuzu Kozan, Seifu Yohei III and Ito Tozan.
The three were acclaimed in Japan during the reign of Emperor Meiji as the finest of their generation and received the accolade Artist to the Imperial Household.
The trio’s experiments with rare glazes and new techniques will be apparent at the Flying Cranes show, which runs from April 1 to June 1.

NOTED New York specialists in Japanese works of art Flying Cranes are not only showing at the International Asian Art Fair from March 28 to April 2 at the Seventh Regiment Armory, they also hold an exhibition of exceptional Japanese studio ceramics by 19th century court artists at their main showroom, Gallery 58 at the Manhattan Art & Antiques Center, 1050 Second Avenue at 56th Street.
