The panel of judges look for objects that are of the highest quality and that best represent the spirit of Asian art. The winners will each receive a £500-voucher for Thomas Heneage Books and a profile in the Antiques Trade Gazette.

Last year’s winners were Simon Ray (best two-dimensional object for an 18th century red peacock banner from the Coromandel Coast) and Theresa McCollough (best three-dimensional object for a 9th century sandstone carving of Vishnu from Northern India).

Entries must be made on the official entry form (available from AXA Art on 020 7265 4600) and accompanied by colour photographs or large transparencies. Closing date for entries is September 12 and multiple entries are very welcome. The judges will make a preliminary selection from these and will then visit the short-listed galleries to see the works in detail before making their final decision.
