At a cost of more than £450,000, the new premises, which will be used mainly for furniture sales, are just down the road from the firm’s existing rooms and headquarters in Augusta Street.
Managing partner Stephen Whittaker said: “The new facility is a major expansion for us as a company and will provide improved service for all our customers as we can now accommodate much larger items and quantities of furniture under one roof. Our existing auction house in Augusta Street will continue to offer an excellent programme of sales such as jewellery, antiques and collectables, pictures, silverware, toys, clocks and watches.”
A total of six full-time staff will be based at the new rooms, which also include office space and storage. The first sale there will be later this month.
