After a decade in Bond Street the dealer wants to be free of the daily restraints of running a gallery so he can pursue other interests, such as travelling for research projects and developing his publishing interests.
Internationally renowned for his expertise and scholarship, John Eskenazi includes not just major collectors but some of the great museums among his clients. He has held many exhibitions at the Bond Street gallery and and together with Michael Spink founded Asian Art in London.
More recently he was the inspiration behind this month's London Sculpture Week. He will continue to exhibit at the International Asian Art Fair in New York every March.
As John Eskenazi moves out, antiquities dealer Rupert Wace, presently at 14 Old Bond Street, will move next door into the two-floor gallery at number 15.
Eskenazi moves out and Wace moves in
AT the beginning of September John Eskenazi, one of the leading dealers in Indian, Tibetan and South-East Asian art, will leave his gallery at 15 Old Bond Street, London W1 and deal by appointment only.
