They started with open days in Lucy’s house in Dulwich woods, which proved a sell-out, launched a website and now hold very singular fairs dedicated to undercutting the shops who sell predominantly British and Scandinavian mid-century design.
Midcentury Modern is what the fair is called, and the next will be on Sunday, March 7 in the Christisson Hall of Dulwich College, London SE21.
Traders in the midcentury classics by the likes of Eames, Dansk and Hans Wegner will sell next to young designers working in many mediums.
Out of the woods for a Modern celebration
Showhome is a Dulwich-based company run by ex-fashion journalist Lucy Ryder Richardson and ex-graphic designer Petra Curtis, who, frustrated by not being able to find the kind of 20th century and contemporary furniture and artefacts they liked locally, formed a sourcing and selling business.
