Announcing the change last week, organiser Lorenzo Rudolf of International Fine Art Expositions, who also stage the prestigious Palm Beach Classic antiques fair at the same venue, explained the three strands which will comprise the show. These are the established contemporary art element, presenting galleries with paintings, sculptures and other art works; a new photography section, featuring the whole gamut of photographic work including fashion and documentary, and a strengthened element arising from a newly-announced partnership with SOFA, which showcases galleries bridging contemporary decorative and fine art.

SOFA, which stands for Sculptural Objects and Functional Art, is a project organised by Mark Lyman who mounts two events, SOFA New York and SOFA Chicago, which attract over 50,000 visitors between them. “Together, we will create the most comprehensive contemporary art fair in the United States,” said Mr Rudolf.

Palm Beach 3 was branded last year as Palm Beach Contemporary, having been called artpalmbeach in its formative years.
