At the Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells, more than 100 choice pieces will be offered at prices from around £100 up to some £10,000 for a Tunbridge Ware table.

The exhibition features part of a recently acquired collection which includes a considerable quantity of small items for collectors of needlework and writing accessories, and toys and games.

An unusually large number of pieces in the collection are labelled, not only by the well-known makers like Edmund Nye and Thomas Barton, but also lesser known names such as the Medhurst family of Worthing and Weymouth and William Camfield of Brighton.

One of the most keenly sought after labels is that of Henry Hollamby, who, despite being one of the most important makers of the second half of the 19th century, rarely labelled his work. The exhibition will include two labelled examples by Hollamby.
