There is also an unusually high dealer turnover this June with 11 newcomers among the 90 or so exhibitors.
Among those joining the fair for the first time are London fine art dealers MacConnal-Mason; Kensington English pottery specialist Jonathan Horne; Swiss antiquities dealer Jean David Cahn and Georg Jensen stockists The Silver Fund of St James’s and Madison Avenue.
Already an Olympia favourite with his distinctive stock, Peter Petrou from London adds a new decorative dimension to Grosvenor House while St James’s art dealer Chris Beetles and Maastricht regular Dr Jörn Günther Rare Books from Hamburg also make their debut.
Exhibitors who have left the fair since last year include the Pyms Gallery, Partridge Fine Arts, C&L Burman, Ursus Books and Prints and Stair & Co. who closed last year.
Grosvenor House closes on June 22.
Grosvenor on Wednesday
SOME changes are planned for this year’s Grosvenor House Art & Antiques Fair. Britain’s top fair opens with the private preview on Wednesday June 15, thereby reverting to the historically successful Wednesday preview after seven years opening on a Tuesday.
