Sarah Percy-Davis, chief executive of LAPADA, said the new appointment would bring a welcome new area of expertise to the LAPADA decision-making team. “As we move further into the 21st century, we plan to recruit more dealers in 20th century and contemporary art as members of the association and Rebecca’s energy and enthusiasm will be invaluable in this aim.”
Rebecca Hossack was born in Melbourne, Australia and came to London in 1981 to read for the Bar, but instead followed a passion for art. She opened her first gallery in Windmill Street in 1988, followed in 1992 with the opening of the Sculpture Garden in St James’s, and in 2000 she opened RHG. It was the first gallery in Europe to show Australian Aboriginal art.
