The business has been evolved in recent years (a major tranche of their collection was sold at Christie's in 1994 when they left their Berkshire home) and Dreweatt Neate were asked to sell a further 800 lots on May 21-22.
The venue for the sale was the grounds of Bossington House, Stockbridge, Hampshire, the home of Mr and Mrs John Fairey, clients and friends of the Csàkys.
Typical of the dramatic and highly decorative lots on offer was this 17th century Italian Baroque wrought-iron four poster campaign bed pictured here. It has an eclectic provenance having been owned by a succession of Italian filmmakers: Luchino Visconti, then Fabrizio Mioni in 1950, Vicente Minelli in 1960 and latterly in the collection of Federico Fellini.
Today it is owned by Spencer Swaffer who bought it at £25,000 (plus 17.5 per cent buyer's premium).
