Commonly known as Droit de Suite, the resale right has been in force since February 2006.
The Artists’ Collecting Society was set up by the Bridgeman Art Library after consultation with the British Art Market Federation (BAMF) and the Society of London Art Dealers (SLAD), who both expressed the need for a second collecting agency as well as The Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS).
So far, the Artists’ Collecting Society has sent out Droit de Suite invoices on a total of £12m worth of art sales.

Artists’ Collecting Society complete first year of resale payouts
THE Artists’ Collecting Society have completed their first year of collecting and paying out the Artists’ Resale Right. They have now been given the mandate to collect the resale right by 200 artists, including well known names like Lucien Freud and Anthony Caro.
