Under the title The Artist's Artist, the exhibition comprises some 50 works for sale at prices from approximately £5000 to £125,000, together with some on loan from The Duke of Edinburgh and the Norwich Museum and Art gallery.
The show is put together by Jeremy Taylor of London's The Taylor Gallery, an expert and specialist dealer in Seago, in collaboration with Colnaghi, who were the artist's agents from 1946 to 1967 when they hosted annual Seago exhibitions at their Old Bond Street galleries.
There will be a display of catalogues and press cuttings from the Colnaghi archives.
Seago was an immensely popular painter in his day, both here and in the United States. The Colnaghi exhibitions were so eagerly awaited visitors queued outside through the night to be first through the door and were limited to one painting per person. Many of the works in this month's show were originally sold by Colnaghi over 50 years ago.
A Norfolk man, Seago is perhaps best known for his East Anglian scenes, but he painted atmospheric ceremonial scenes centred on London, circus subjects and also numerous foreign locations. Istanbul and Marrakesh were favourite spots and he famously accompanied Prince Philip on a painting trip to Antarctica on the Royal yacht Britannia.
Four of these Antarctica works owned by The Duke of Edinburgh are on loan to the show.
Jeremy Taylor says: "Interest in Edward Seago has been increasing and there has been a move to reassess him as an artist who never received the critical acclaim he deserved, despite his popularity and commercial success during his lifetime."
With the interest in Modern British art, prices for Seago have been steadily increasing and this exhibition can only enhance interest in the painter.
A documentary on Seago, his work, his friendship with the British Royal family and this Colnaghi exhibition will be screened on ITV Anglia on September 18.

This is the second collaboration between Colnaghi and the Taylor Gallery who jointly presented an Edward Seago exhibition Atmosphere and Light in Bond Street in 2006.
