Opposite the World's End housing estate, the street is home to the popular Tuscan restaurant La Famiglia and a cluster of shops and galleries, among them James Harvey British Art and Offer Waterman.

Now the street has two new additions: the decorative antiques dealers Josephine Ryan and Appley Hoare, who have moved there in the past few months.

Both dealers have been trading without a shop for the past few years but, at a time when many dealers are choosing to close their shops, these ladies are bucking the trend.

Appley has set up shop at number 9 while Josephine is at number 17 and, as they recognise that passing trade is limited on this pretty side street, they are hoping to encourage visitors with an invitation to an 'evening of festive bonhomie' tonight (November 29) from 6pm onwards.

Throughout the evening they will open their doors to shoppers along with other businesses on the street.
