Alfies Antiques in Marylebone provided the setting for the awards ceremony on Friday, July 4, which was attended by the 17 shortlisted applicants.
James was also awarded one of the eight showcase displays at the decorative antiques collective, Lorfords@Babdown near Tetbury.
The other Lorfords showcases went to Alys Dobbie, Edd Thomas, Henry Saywell, Lily Trunfull, Matt Wise, Robyn Alston and William Potts.
The 11 mentoring packages, through which each successful applicant is paired with senior members of the trade, were awarded to: Amanda Picket (paired with Patrick Macintosh); Daniel Larsson (Robert Young); Edd Thomas (Marc Allum); Jason Clarke (Lennox Cato); Jon Irvine (Mark Goodger); Lily Trunfull (Ashley Gray); Paul Jones (Spencer Swaffer); Matt Goymer (Ian Towning); Oliver Leggett (Nigel Worboys); Robyn Alston (Stuart Atkinson) and Serhat Ahmet (Steven Moore).
Two other special awards were given on the night: the Judith Miller Award for Outstanding Potential, which went to 18-year old-dealer William Potts, and the Judges' Special Award, which was awarded to Marika Clemow from ATG Media.
