The Gloucestershire location officially opens today for a preview of the sale which includes its 25th annual specialist auction of paintings, oils and watercolours.
The firm’s fine art department has previously held monthly auctions in different locations.
The new premises, called The North Cotswold Saleroom, in Lansdowne, Bourton-on-the-Water, is next to The Royal British Legion Hall and has been renovated to include an entrance hall, reception, office, strong room, canteen and facilities.
T&F will hold its 12 fine art and antiques sales a year at the new location as well as property auctions, the first taking place on December 7.
The November 19 sale comprises 650 lots including a watercolour by Eleanor E Christian (1820-98) who was an intimate friend of Charles Dickens. She was author of Reminiscences of Charles Dickens: From a Young Lady’s Diary.
The picture is of an unknown girl, signed and dated 1853, and bears its original gallery label on the verso for London dealer Christopher Wood. It carries an estimate of £200-300.
Furniture expert Martin Lambert runs the fine art and antiques department and said it has taken him 20 years to get to this point of opening a new saleroom.
The firm is offering viewing until 8pm today.
