Just over 30 exhibitors from Europe and the US showed a range of works spanning the 16th century to the present day in this autumn slot at the Palais Brongniart, a venue that is also home to the spring drawings fair, Salon du Dessin, run by the same team
Among the successful sales at this inaugural event were a profile portrait of a child in pastel on gold ground paper by Lucien Levy-Dhurmer (1896-1953) priced at €25,000, offered by the Paris Galerie de Bayser, and a €50,000 self-portrait by Edmond Aman-Jean (1858-1936) from the Swiss, Basel, dealer Jean-François Heim.

A Venetian painting of c.1900 by Giacomo Favretto (1849-87) priced around €20,000 from Munich exhibitor Arnoldi-Livi was another sale, while Paris exhibitor Galerie Fabienne Fiacre sold four drawings and two paintings ranging in price from €3000-75,000.
Following this inaugural event the organisers announced that next year’s Fine Arts Paris will move from the Palais Brongniart to the Carrousel du Louvre where it will have double the number of exhibitors and exhibition space. A programme of events will accompany the 2018 edition.
