The sale will be accompanied by a talk given by Dr Henry Fitzhugh the former marketing director of the Underground. He started the continuing Art on the Underground series which commissions contemporary art works that are shown on the Tube.

Kirill Kalinin, founder of AntikBar, says: “The initiative was seen as good decoration for the stations to benefit passengers and as a way of continuing the Underground’s long history of responsibility towards art and heritage.”

The talk takes place on June 22 and is a ticketed event.

The auction of Underground posters takes place on July 1.

It is part of a larger offering of 250 original vintage posters from around the world featuring travel, cinema, sport, propaganda and more.
