‘Other things to look at’: Howard Hodgkin’s personal collection goes under the hammer at Sotheby’s

Howard Hodgkin (1932-2017) refused to have his own work hung where he could see it. Though the paintings he created were personal and intimate, he said that he had “absolutely no desire to collect my own work”.
