Essex – Stacey’s
Essex Saleroom Stacey’s has a two-day sale of antiques, jewellery and collectables from December 11-12. It includes a specialist silver section comprising 102 lots. A silver punch bowl with raised scroll handles, circular foot and engraved family coat of arms is among the offerings. It has an estimate of £600-800.
Haslemere – John Nicholson’s
An auction of antique furniture, pictures and collectables, mostly from a house in Haslemere, takes place a John Nicholson’s on December 12. It includes this George III mahogany breakfront secretaire bookcase, estimated at £5000-6000, which has a carved cornice, and four astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves. The base has a deep secretaire drawer fitted with small drawers aboved three long drawers flanked by a pair of cupboard doors.
Maidenhead – Dawson’s
This antiques yellow gold and turquoise ring is included in Dawson’s Auctioneers’ sale of jewellery, silver and watches on December 8. Possibly Islamic, it is loosely set to a heart-shaped centre and the mount features engraved and applied decoration. It has an estimate of £1000-1500.

Guildford – Wellers
Several items of Beatles memorabilia are on offer at Weller’s sale of December 10, which offers jewellery, watches, silver, antiques and collectables. A loose magazine page entitled Beatles Take a Bow signed by John, Paul, George and Ringo is included with an estimate of £1500-2000. Signatures of all four Beatles together are particularly sought after. This example includes the word Beatles inscribed by Paul McCartney.
Cambridgeshire – Hyperion Auctions
A sale of art and antiques at Hyperion features a rare ship’s log from the HMS Excellent, starting on July 1795. It recounts sailing with Lord Nelson’s ship HMS Victory and included in the lot is a matching signals book, all handwritten and tinted. Offer in the auction which takes place on December 8, it has an estimate of £1500-2000.
