From May 25-29, while Christie’s previews and stages its latest auction series, there will be selling displays of works from a trio of well known dealers.
Sharing the space at the Hong Kong Convention Centre (where Christie’s holds its twice-yearly major marquee weeks of sales) will be a pop-up exhibition featuring the dealers’ particular specialities.
London sculpture dealer Robert Bowman will show works by Auguste Rodin, the Brussels tribal art dealer Didier Claes will be bringing a display of African masks, and Paris dealer Xavier Eeckhout will be promoting his particular speciality, animalier bronzes, with a selection of works by various artists in this genre.

This cross-fertilisation between different strands of the trade aims to enlarge the range of material on offer to visitors and the potential clientele for the dealers and auction house.

These selling exhibitions offer a wonderful opportunity to collectors in Asia.”
